June 14, 2008 [Tokyo]
Jetsam, a two-part event in Tokyo and Kyoto, kicks off next Sunday (June 22) at Bar Bul-lets in Nishi-azabu, Tokyo. First up will be an electronic improvisation from Hosomi and Aen (Yasufumi Suzuki), followed by Legofriendly, and finally Washbear, the duo unit of 13Kaku.
Legofriendly will be joined by Shantell Martin drawing imaginary sea creatures live to the music (Legofriendly has a new track on Shantell's upcoming DVD release too).
Rounding out the evening will be DJ sets from skab/T (Freeta Corrective) and Drummatic (flyrec). All in all, not to be missed (obviously). Doors open at 19:30, Sunday June 22. Entrance is 2000 yen (including a drink). See you there.

Egg Beater is officially released today on the Intervall-audio label, distributed through Ultravybe in Japan. (1500 yen, inc tax). Available in all good record shops.
The new album brings together six tracks of dense urban electronic music that lie somewhere between IDM, techno and electronica—but as always, fall neatly between the gaps. Recommended listening if you like FourTet, Mouse on Mars, Pram or Plaid.
